Dr. Tiff Stephens I am currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, working with Dr. Ginny Eckert. My staunch background in marine, benthic ecology nucleated more focused interest in the ecophysiology of marine autotrophs (i.e. macroalgae and seagrasses). As such, I get jazzed about how both bottom-up and top-down processes or mechanisms influence primary productivity and species interactions. I have a strong interest in using my research to highlight how coastal communities contribute to ecosystem services and to better inform stewardship practices, perhaps eventually being useful to policy. I aspire to draw upon multiple disciplines to help drive my research, as well as learning new methods and techniques.
